The National Lymphedema
It was founded in 1988 to provide education and guidance to people with lymphedema, health care professionals and the general public by disseminating information on the prevention and management of primary and secondary lymphedema through publications, conferences and its web site.
It seeks to standardize quality treatment for people with lymphedema across the United States, and provides advice to patients and health providers who seek to overturn a health insurer's decision to deny coverage for lymphedema treatments.
In addition, the NLN supports research into the causes and possible alternative treatments for this condition.
Its executive director is Saskia R.J. Thiadens, R.N.
