Rapid Visual Imaging is a technique used in the editing of modern motion pictures and television broadcasts that can create a form of sensory overload in the person watching it. It is claimed to have detrimental effects on the mental health of people who are exposed to it, in particular on the very young.
As a consequence, some videos and broadcast are labelled as being RVI free, meaning that the technique has specifically been excluded as a form of protection for the viewers.
